    Thumbs up Colt SAA Ivory Grips are a Work of Art

    Ivory 14.JPG Just got my SAA .45 back from Paul Persinger, the ivory master of the Colt world. Folks, he did not dissapoint me for one second. I actually made the trip to El Paso and met him before I would let anyone handle my 175 Anniversary Edition SAA .45 with the desired 4 3/4 barrel. We bought it brand new, and wanted the best ivory grips to be installed. Another Colt forum friend 'BigSkyDoc" suggested Paul as the man who could do the job. The fine Doctor was correct. Paul's work is fabulous, but it isn't until you touch it and see the details that you really appreciate his quality workmanship. He chose for me a piece of African elephant invory that had some beautiful color to it. Honestly, I could not have asked for anything better. In case you are not familiar with Paul and his work, well his client is Colt manufactoring ... so when you send your SAA to the factory for new grips, or you order a brand new Colt with ivory grips from the factory, more than likely they are going to send it to Paul for the actual work to be done. Lastly, Paul does not have a website, or facebook, and he doesn't even Tweet ... the guy is the real deal and is a great knowledge resource on Colts. He also is a past and present friend of El Paso Saddlery owners ... father and son. So he has great stories about the old days of the holster legends. His own collection of Colts and pictures of what he has done for his clients are certainly worth the visit alone. I know El Paso is a long ways for most of us, but the time and the pleasure of the visit made it all worth while.

    Paul gets a 5 Star rating from this Colt owner! Well done !

    Amen!!
    Paul is my only recommendation when I have a client who wants custom grips done to compliment my engraving. Have worked with him numerous time and he always delivers!

    El Paso is only 40 miles from me! How can I get in contact with him?

    Thanks,

    Max

    Max;

    Paul lives in the heart of east El Paso, easy to find and fairly easy to get to. Here is his phone number (915) 821-7541. Call him before you show up. While there certainly ask for him to show you pictures of his work, and just look around his little shop in his house, you will be in awe of the quality of his artwork and craftsmanship.
    Lastly, please let him know you and I were in contact, he's a reserved kind of guy.

    Weldon; Did you engrave these two SAA in the pix yourself?
