Six first gen including a Bisley and two third gen. Also half a dozen 1877's and a 1878. But very hard to find good ones here.
Zero.
I have a couple of Old Model Blackhawks and a pair of AWA Peacekeepers I bought for my wife, but no genuine SAA's.
I suspect that will change someday.

At least 170 among 10 or 12 men. No wonder it is hard to find one! I hope that they are all in glass cases and that you adore each and every one every day. Is this a definition of hoarding??![]()

Mickey Many of the Colts I own are what I would call "rescue" Colts. Truthfully I have bought some real crappy SA's.

Why ? Have you ever picked up a Old worn Colt Sa that no one wants and it says to you--"Take me Home with you" ? Well I am bad about that ! I like Old Cowboy looking SA's--worn grips, no hammer notches, ect.

I recently bought a old Colt Sa at a gun show in Houston. It was no great prize to anyone but me. When I saw it a dealer was looking at it and commenting that he would just part it out. Anyhow, the dealer walks away and I end up buying the pistol for $400 just to keep it from being parted out. Ejector housing held on with a rubber band, wrong type of grips, ect, ect, BUT the pistol functioned perfectly.

So I got it home and what I got was a Colt SA made in 1877, Sr #385xx, 44/40, the barrel was marked "CP" and "JTC", all # matched includding the assembly #'s. So at $400 I have plenty of room to "Fix" the bad stuff and have a nice old Colt.

So is it Hoarding or Rescuing??

I would like to post a picture of it---but just can't get it to work for me.

Ronin

None! And there is a story along with this.
My wife asked what I wanted for a wedding present when we got hitched years ago. I told her a colt SAA blue in 45 LC. I told her where to go and who to talk to get it. She asked if I wanted a nice western holster rig to go with it and I said great!
This is the only thing I have ever specifically asked for as gifts go, B-day etc… is always “I am fine do not need anything.”
So the time comes to exchange wedding gifts. Here it comes…all excited, I could tell it was the pistol as the wrapped gift was the same size etc. I opened it up and there was a Uberti SAA in 45 LC. Not even blued it is fire blued barrel and cylinder with case hardened frame.
I looked at her and said, “This is not a colt”. She said this is what the salesman that she bought it from stated I would want more than a Colt. I should have said, a swimsuit model is more what I would want to marry than you but…….
I still do not have a SAA, but I am still happily married.
The only positive part is when I find that 1st Gen I will blame having to buy it on her.
