Nice old Colt! I do like the grips a lot. While I may own a decent example of an old 357 Colt NS - I don't know much more than I've read in Murphy's publication on the model and a few threads here. I suspect your gun has aftermarket front sights - and the barrel length may have been altered, ... not sure. I've put 2 boxes of ammo through mine; one .357 and one .38 +P. It's a BIG gun and hardly flinched with the .357. Mine has a very small, 5 pointed star on the face of the cylinder. It is stamped slightly off-center, half there, and hard to make out - but it is there. You might look for one on yours. I have no doubt you'll find it if you look hard. I'd love to hear your impressions of shooting it.

jerry, thnx it does have a star and an 8 on the front of the cyld. and when looking at the site . it's adjustable...go figure.it does'nt say .357 mag just 357 new service ...what ammo do ya recommend.thnx G.
