I answered your post in the Announcements forum; your gun, when checked at Colt's serial number look-up comes back as either a 1931 Police Positive .38 or possibly a 1928 Police Positive Special .38. Photos will definitely help! Again, welcome to the Colt Froum.

A 346000 serial would date to 1939. .357 is a desireable caliber in a New Service. Pics would be great.
