850 to 900.......in my area....Mutt
Hi,
Can anyone venture a guess as to what a .357 6" Peacekeeper in good shape might be worth? It has some dings in the finish but is mechanically sound.
Thanks,
John

I believe the above poster thought you were checking on peacemaker prices. I can't imagine a matt stainless DA MKV .357 peacekeeper bringing that kind of money. Not even in these wild internet times. I have not seen one lately though for sale.
I know there is some confusion between the Peacekeeper and the Peacemaker. The latter is the Single Action Army while the former is a .357 magnum. It is essentially a Trooper MKV with a matt finish and rubber grips. On most of the auction sites, if you search for "Peacekeeper" you get a bunch of the Single Action Armies. The only reason the price might be a little high is that they were only made from 1986 through 1987, so there aren't very many. The one I saw is $599. Seems a little steep to me, but then again, they didn't make too many.

Yes, this one http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...?Item=64082096 has been for sale on their site for some time at $599.95. Perhaps their reserve is lower.
This is the most recent sale I recall. They are less frequent recently. http://www.auctionarms.com/search/di...temnum=7731464
I don't know if this helps or not, but I've bought 3 nickel Trooper Mark Vs in the last 6 months. 6" in about 95% for $550. probably on the high side, but I wanted it, so it was worth it to me. 4" NIB for $500. at a show. And a 4" in about 90% from the classifieds on this site, for $380. This is my main shooter from this trio.
I think $400. would be closer to what I'd give for that Peacekeeper as a shooter, with the finnish issues.
Seeing the guns that you have been posting as recent purchases, some form of Mark V looks like a good bet for your next purchase. I would keep looking for a version with a better finnish, like blue or nickel. They are less common than the Mark IIIs, but they are around and there are still deals to be had.
Good luck with the hunt.
