The reason it looks different is because it's a blue finish over a stainless gun vs a Blue Cold drawn steel finish.
That gun that you are describing sounds like the one that the American Historical Foundation had done a few years back.
They even charge extra just for the display case. Like around $150-$199.
That company has done many guns through the years.
The one gunshop I frequent here in AZ has a Gold plated 1911 Colt that's highly embelished and was done by the same company and it also has the wood & glass display case.
I think the original price was $2000 plus $200 for the case.
He's had it for sale for $1400 for months and can't sell it.
My thought is, for that price, stay away from it.
If they wanted $1500 I would think about it, but at that price, walk away.
