Larry, Paul, and I went Colt shopping a few months ago. I bought this Colt Dective Special from 1972.
I tried her out a few times now and she is a shooter.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Do you mind telling us what you paid for it? I would certainly be proud to own it.
Thank you for the kind words.
You probably ain't going to believe me but it was $320 out the door with a box or rounds.

And me being me......I still kinda harbor ill feelings over that purchase of yours !!
I prefer Colts.....Semper Fi
You will enjoy carrying the finest 2 inch 38 ever made. These guns are compact , powerful and accurate. I can shoot this 2 inch D frame as well as a 3-4 inch medium frame revolver. For self defense there are several good loads . The 158 lhp plus p and the Gold Dot 135. Even better is the Buffalo Bore 158 lhp. Comes in 2 loadings. The standard pressure 158 gets the same velocity as most plus p loads. The plus p load chronographs a 158 out of a 2 inch S&W J frame at 1000 fps. This gives you controlable, low flash and noise load with almost 357 ballistics.
What Lawman said! I've been collecting these things for years. They are Accurate, durable, dependable, hold one more shot than most, powerful, and hold their value better than any other snub except perhaps a python, and a python is really too large to be a snub.

"Invest in quality, Buy Colt's"
Hunter, I'm startin' to worry about you. Not only have you forsaken them self-shuckers for a SAA, now you're buy'n double actions to boot!
Well I am partial to the Government Model but I like all things Colt. To be honest it is Larry and Paul's fault. We all went shopping and they both bought Colts. Could I walk away empty handed? I think not! I was leaning to a nice Pre Series 80 Colt Commander when I spotted this Dick Special. I am a big Humphrey Bogart fan (and I already have a 1939 Official Police) and this little Colt just called my name. That happens quite often really.
I have taken her to the rage and accuracy surprised me. I have a Ruger SP 101 and that is a nice snubby but it does not hold a candle to the Colt.
