Pictures of a recently acquired Service Model Ace. The serial number (2553) is
under the FP retainer with 25 above and 53 below the FP opening.
Does anyone know how many were blued vs. Parkerized?
I am sure JohnnyP will know!

The two Ballester .22 mags with a prewar ACE mag and four SMA mags (prewar and war time) for comparison. The 1st SMA mag is the early floor plate, followed by the other period SMA mags. They remain in the same order in all pictures.

Best Regards,

Stan3, Certainly more great information on the magazines. The two Argentina magazines
you pictured have similarities to the two I posted earlier, but there are also enough
differences to raise question about them. It seems likely that the two I pictured are
from a earlier or later Argentina gun. My guess is they are later mags that were
possibly produced in Argentina as replacements for their originals.
Your inputs have been most educational and well presented!!
