I have the Wiley CCO. It is bigger that your Springfield. It is a Commander slide on an Officers frame. It's still unfired from the factory so I can't help with anything else. D*

I carry a Clapp Commander I bought new in 2013. The same as the CCO with the longer Gov/Commander grip. I really like the pistol but a couple friends who have shot it do not like the checking because they thought it was too agressive and another did not like the thumb safety because they thought it was too small. Picture.

I have thought about the CCO as you have the same slide but am happy enough with the Commander I don't want to spend the money on the CCO right now.

I carry a CCO, but not a Wiley Clapp. I think the combo of Commander length slide and Officer's frame is about as good as it gets. It handles great and is easily concealed. Also does well with 9mm or .45acp. If you like a 1911, you'll love this size package. Of course, I'm biased to a 1911 system.

I built my own CCO using an enhanced Colt Combat Commander 9mm slide on a Fusion frame, and added a Storm Lake .38 Super barrel. This particular gun gets carried more than any other gun I own, not only because I built it, but also because it's so easy to carry.

Other than the commonality of magazines between the Commander and Government size guns, I don't see any reason for the Commander when you can have a CCO.

Now that, Safe, is a gorgeous gun!

Just one question: did you just remove the FPS parts from the slide? I'm betting the Fusion lower doesn't use such an abomination to JMB's design!

You can order the Fusion frame as either a Series 70 or 80. I went with the Series 70 frame and didn't install the firing pin plunger/spring in the slide (the slide came stripped except for the sights).

I have a Wiley Clapp CCO and I absolutely love it!!!! Easy to conceal and very accurate
to shoot. I have few quite a few rounds thru it with no malfunctions at all! I would
    recommend it highly.
