New (to me) 1977 Lightweight Commander

Picked up my second Lightweight Commander. This one is a 1977 in .45 with custom work done at the Novak shop. Hand checkering front and rear straps, magwell, ambi mag release, polish and trigger work.
Grips are buffalo bone. This will make a nice addition to my other one in .38 Super.

I'm a big fan of the LWCMDs. That new Commander looks to have it all.

Sorry leo918 but I'm not into abbreviations like LWCMDs. I assume you mean Lightweight Commander?

Love those Light Weight Commanders, the Commander model is my favorite in the Colt line.

On the Super, I especially like the relief cut for the middle finger just beneath the mag release ("Magazine" for Ei8ht) . It allows the gun to sit just a bit lower in the hand and is more comfortable for me.

Congrats, looks like a nice pistol! My first 1911 was a nickel Commander, I've had a soft spot for them ever since.
