Colt silver star 45: My one and only

This is my one 1911 - I posted with questions about it awhile back and bought it. (Luckily, away from the prying eyes of camera flashes, the scratches aren't visible).

It's a limited edition, not really sought after, inaugurating Colt's stainless steel guns in '85. They put out 1000. I guess it's basically a Government with a Colt Custom polishing. Had one prior owner, seems like light use. Paid $850. Standard new for the few you see posted is $1200-$1400.

Shoots very accurately and I carry it. Has a 70s bushing, which I guess is dicey but so far it's fine and apparently has been for 25 yrs.
Unlike my Colt Python in nickel, this can be polished by Colt again in 2 or 3 years. Then I can carry it and scratch it again. Which is a great freedom. The nickel Python owns me.

It's my only 1911, so even if you don't like it, I'd appreciate a lie - or silence. (Beautifully expressed false admiration would be best though)

    Cool

i believe the silver stars were the 1st 1,000 bright stainless gov models that colt manufactured.

i had 2 nib/cased silver stars myself a few years ago. sold them when i was going through a tough period and needed some cash but i wish i had kept at least one of them.

You have a really good looking Colt .45 Auto. I think you got a pretty good deal on it also. Glad you are shooting it. Enjoy your Colt.
