Colt 3rd Series Match Target Grips

Hello to everyone! I have a beautiful Colt 3rd series Woodsman Match Target. The factory grips have the thumb rest on them. I want to put another set of grips on them, so that I can carry the pistol in my Bianchi holster. Impossible to carry in a holster, with the thumb rest grips. Could someone please tell me what other Colt grips fit my Woodsman Match Target? Thanks in advance for any help. Jay "shotgungibbs" Prather

Any grips made for 3rd Series will work: Woodsman, Huntsman or Challenger.

There are several options as far as aftermarket stocks you might want to consider. Both companies noted below make stocks without the thumbrest for the 3rd Series Woodsman. I'm Lefthanded so I use a set of Rosewood Stocks from Eagle on my 3rd Series Woodsman Target. Good luck.

Any grips made for 3rd Series will work: Woodsman, Huntsman or Challenger.

There are no Third Series Challengers. The Third Series consists of the Match Target, Woodsman, Targetsman and Huntsman. Second Series stocks will also fit a Third Series, but the unneeded magazine latch cutout will be offensive to some.

Any Match Target is now collectible so it seems a shame to subject one to holster wear. Still, your gun, your choice.
