pics please....
Found out yesterday a friend has this pistol without any identifying roll marks except serial number. No Colt logo or name on the gun, I've never seen one like that before. I seen them marked 22 Automatic Pistol and even with First Addition roll marks, but never not marked in any way. Has anyone else seen one like it?
Has he actually got a rare Colt there that would be something of increased collector value? Or do Colt production screwups like this de-value the gun?

Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to take an ass whoopin'. . .

Looks like Colt Target Model rollmarked on barrel?
Am I missing something?

I don't see anything on barrel. Here is mine. I see mine, but hey maybe your eyes are lot better then mine. Whats odd about the Colt 22's is the barrels of 6 Target are mark like mine. but slides are not. Oon the 4" barrels are not usually marked but slide is, however a friend here in town has one marked First Addition on the barrel. Both our guns bought new from same dealer on same day. His is a black SS gun, instead of plain SS like mine.

Because of the photograph the the markings appear very light. The markings are there and the gun is not unusual. Fairly standard gun. Nice package overall.
He says there are no markings on gun at all, I see none either but sent him an email to find out for sure. His gun is not fore sale and is his favorite shooter, he told me about the gun after mentioning I had one. As you can see mine is clearly marked and I see no markings on his gun. Mine is not marked on slide, and is on barrel. But 4.5" model is not marked on barrel barrel, but on slide.

Previous posting was the barrel. Here is the frame done the same way. Can't quite read it, but obviously something is there. Looks like the second line is Hartford CT, USA.

Well like I said I just emailed him to clarify his statement to me. He may have only talking about the slide.
Now all this said and done I'm not going to worry about it as I don't really see these guns ever being of collector value, but been wrong about those kind of things before.
These are not pretty guns, and they do look kind of strange. But they are real good shooters if you can get past look and like grip angle. I love their accuracy and ease of cleaning and that it's not ammo sensitive for function. When this one wares out there is always Beretta NEOS which is a clone with some interchangableparts such as magazine and springs.
