    Magazine question

Here is my 1991A1 and I have a question about the scarring on the magazine on the left side. Am I doing something wrong? Just can't figure out why it would be scarred like that. I will look inside the magazine well and see if there are any signs of something wrong there, too. This is the original Colt "M" magazine that came with the weapon when I purchased it new in 1993. I have only put ~400 rounds down range with this fine piece of equipment and don't want any problems to crop up as it is my primary carry weapon.

You can see in the second picture where I had flipped the magazine over, there is some minor scratching, but not like the other side.

These pictures were taken during a weekly range shoot and you can see that this magazine is loaded with 230 grain round nose FMJ, usually the Federal factory loads that I use at the range.

The wear shown is normal. The interior of the magazine well may be a little rough on that side, or the magazine may be a little "fat" in that area, or a combination of the two, which causes the wear shown. Finish wear on a magazine is not a reliability issue. Don't worry about it.

Do the mags that show the wear drop freely loaded and unloaded, or do they bind a little?

Normal wear as JudgeColt posted. My new XSE LWT GM is already showing some wear there.
Looking inside the magazine well; when the magazine contacts the magazine release it is forcing the fwd part of the magazine over as it slides past the trigger bow and frame channel for it.
