It is recent embellishment, which makes it non-original, and worth far less than the work cost.

The maker was trying to duplicate the original "Elephant Ear" wood stocks found on Pre-War Match Target pistols. (Apparently, you are not familiar with the standard Pre-War Match Target stocks of that style.)
