colt officers

the last month or so i've been shopping for a colt officers model. i have found a good many and have already let two bright stainless models slip by @ $1100 each.all looked good with minor handling marks. i'm really interested in a stainless bright or matte finish.i looked too long on the aforementioned other two.all of a couple days and they were gone.now i see a stainless which is enhanced in its blue plastic box also for believe it or not $1100. what do you guys think of the price and what are the features above standard for the enhanced model.thanks ahead john.

Great question. I like the officer's ACP and have a few. The only differences between enhansed, and Mod 0 basic, are cosmetic. Flat top on the slide, different hammer, slanted groves on the slide. There is no difference in reliability. As to price, if you want it buy it...

Since the officer's acp is a series 80, the newer New Agent and Defender are great alternatives with full warrenty for a lot less money.

If you are a collector, then the officer's acp are worth a little more. :-) This is just my opnion.. Go for it if that is what you want.

If you've not already looked, try gunauction.com. I've seen various models of Officers ACP there. You have to be quick, because they do go fast. Some look fairly nice, some maybe not so much. All the ones I've seen there have pictures from various angles so you can look top to bottom & both sides. Wish you the best!

1100 is kind of high. Gunbroker has a couple in PA - and one is really nice at what I think is a better price.

I would do a Defender or TALO New Agent instead - even though I do have an Officer ($450 lightly used 2 years ago).
