Yes, but offer him $300 and see what happens.
A friend of mine has a 1909 (mid twenties low serial #) 380 Colt. I would place the condition around 80% give or take. The barrel is in good condition and the magazine is correctly marked. A very small chip on the right grip. He said it was a very accurate and a flawless shooter. Does 400 seem like a fair price? I'm not sure if I'll take it? (correctly priced without pictures?)

i would say that $400.00 is a good price going both ways. Fair to both of you. But this is sight unseen, it may differ after actually seeing the gun.

I say its fair, your friend gets what he wants and you get a great gun that i bet shoots straight and goes on with-out a hic-up..my colt 1903 .32 has never jammed and i shoot the heck out of it...buy and enjoy it..

Cabelas in Hammond,IN had for a long time a gun listed as a Smith & Wesson Detective Special. It was a pic of a Detective Spec. - it was posted in their Gun Library for a long time.

Our Cabelas still has an Official Police marked "Police Positive" in the case. I've pointed this out to them twice.
And they still have a poorly renickeled S&W M&P for only $449. Do they wonder why it hasn't moved?
Also a poorly reblued Police Positive for over $400.
The upside is they make some mistakes on the good stuff too and now and then you can get a really good deal.
But you know whoever brought that .380 in that I bought probably only got $300 for it.
Which ironically enough would be a good deal for the seller if it was reblued.
One thing about Cabelas is they really seem to make higher than normal offers. At least on the stuff they have bought from me
It's a puzzling place. Typical corporate America
