Ah yes. Strictly business. How I miss those bullseye matches.
Thanks for showing that classic.
A couple of good threads lately have been posted with vintage .45s built by some of the old masters. Here's one, built by Jim Hoag of Los Angeles, CA. This .45 is a purpose-driven target pistol for competing in the Service Pistol Matches at Camp Perry and the Distinguished Matches at state and regional shoots. It'll easily group into 2" at 50 yds with match ball (commercial Fed 230 gr or GI match TZZ lot #007 are its' preference), using a Ransom Rest. This one is in semi-retirement now, as I'm shooting an accurized M9. A good example of what a great pistolsmith can do with a Colt. It has a 70's commercial frame and a GI "hard slide" from the early 60's, BoMar sights and a beautifully checkered front strap (Jim Hoag's trademark-done by hand). This is one of my favorites.

That is a beautiful pistol. Love the looks of a classic bullseye pistol.
Beautiful piece; great photograph. By the way, I took basic at Ft Bragg in 1967. I fell in love with Fayetteville. Brings back fond memories.
