    1908 380 Colts?

I noticed over the past few year that the demand and value of the 1908/380 Colts have gone up considerably. Is it because of its mystic associated with the gangster era or maybe its simplicity and reliability or a combination of all three. I know a lot weren't made and maybe that's a factor too. I've seen pistols with hardly any finish (or refinished) and smooth grips go for around 600 on the auction sites?

i think shooters are realizing the quality and workmanship of the m model colt. just take a close look at the machine and finish work on these little autos. they are masterpieces from the golden age of colt. i own two .380s and one .32. they all function perfectly!.

I've got 2 .32s - but no .380 yet. I'll get one eventually. I think it's a combination of all that you stated. I think they are suprbly made and are just a ball to shoot. Some even carry them still.

I have had a couple of the "M" models, and have a very nice one now. I love them for there ease of shooting, and there ease of carry. No less than George Patton carried one with regularity.

A true beauty! I have been on the hunt for one the past 3 months and ended up with (4) 380 Govt Model Mark IVs. Slight difference in age though since mine are 1984-1995. I have no idea why colt quit making the larger grip frame of the Govt vs the smaller grip Pony and Mustang re-introduction.
