    Series 70 Gold Cup Opinion

Can anyone commit on the accuracy of a factory stock Gold Cup 70 series as compared to a Les Baer Premier II ?
    Any input would be appreciated

I think it really depends on individual examples for the GCs, but generalzing I doubt that there's any comparison between untweaked GCs, and out-of-the box LB PIIs. That probably wasn't the case with the earlier GCNMs which were delivered with test targets which validated their as-built accuracy. By the time the Series 70s came along, in my opinion, they weren't much more than GVMT models with target sights. I say this as the owner of two S70 GCs and a LB PII.

No competition here. Les Baer will outshoot it. I own a Les Baer std. PII. And owned ( and sold) two GC's series 70.

I just really like the way the series 70 looks and it is a Colt

How good of a shot are you? To shoot and own long term you'll get your money back and then some with the GCNM. What is the intended purpose of the weapon?

I have a S70 GCNM but shoot it rarely, It doesn't perform any better than any of my other Gov't models, it just has better sights. At the risk of being flamed but in the name of honesty my Glock 30 shoots as well if not better with Winchester white box ammo than my GC with "target loads"

My series 70 Gold Cup has a better trigger than my Les Baer, but we are splitting hairs. The accuracy is the same to me. No Ransom Rest, but two hand hold on the bench, same ammo, old man eyes, delivered the same accuracy.

Most of the guns I see shoot better than their owners. I have shot a Baer and have a Colt 1911. Shoot both of them the same with the same Cartridges.

I am using the gun for target shooting but may at some point try competition. I am partial to my Colt and especially like the flat top slide. I have considered moving up to a Les Bear but not sure if I could do any better with that. On another note is there a replacement for the original collet barrel bushing used on the series 70 ?
