Lightweight Officer's ACP - New to me

I can't say I was a great fan of the little Officer's Colt .45s but one and that was the Lightweight. I'd passed on one, haven't we all done something dumb like that, many years ago and regretted it ever since. Recently I decided to actively look for one but I wanted the box and all. I lucked up on this one, an enhanced model with some mods, in the box, with Wilson combat mags and got it for $750. I added the wood stocks and S&A msh with lanyard loop. I'm looking ahead to carry while canoing and am wise enough to learn from the sad mistakes of others. The photo shows it is as it looks now. BTW, I ordered a Milt Sparks Summer Special for it and today was told that due to their backlog I likely won't get it before 1 July...

    Sincerely,

    Hobie

Lightweight Officers New to Me........... 21 years ago!

Hey, Hobie! I like your new weapon! Looks a bit familiar, so to speak. Hope you love it!

Here is mine. Officers Lightweight .45 ACP. Made in 1990 as verified by Colt. Bought it in 1991. Love it so much that I taught my kids to shoot a handgun with it way back when. It's now my concealed carry weapon. Still have the original box & owners manual, too. Seems a bit primitive by today's standards, but she shoots great!

You must be a better canoer than I was. I'd hate to dump that little beauty in the drink. I never went on a canoe trip I didn't go bottom up at least once every trip.

Nice Colt Hobie. I had one years ago that I had bought new and then foolishly traded it off. Now I'm casually looking for another one.

Good call on the lanyard loop for canoing!

Nice find and good price! Love your website too Hobie; lots of great links. My wife and I regularly kayak and are in a kayaking group. I hope you have one of those waterproof dry-bags!

Hobie, you better Eezox up that .45 really well (to prevent corrosion) before you dump it in the drink on your next canoeing expedition.

    LOL
