    357 Sig in 1911

Does anyone make a 357 SIG 1911 or 1911 SIG conv bbl. I had a question asked about it? I never saw or heard on one.
This is the best place to ask. Thank you

Yes, I've heard of a company that makes a 1911 in .357 Sig, but I don't remember who it was. Let me do some research and I'll see if I can get back to you with a company name. I feel like it was a semi-custom job. From what I read it worked out well.

Found an answer for you, Bar-Sto makes a semi- drop in barrel in .357 Sig for both the Govt. and Commander Models of the 1911; $215 for the 5".

Of course you could just get a .38 Super and be very close to the same ballistics as the .357 Sig. There are also other options that will push quite a bit faster in either the 9X23 or 9X25 Dillon. The benefit of the Super and last two is they are the same length as the .45 auto chambering.

Agree, unless you have to have that caliber for special reason, a .38 Super is it - I have two and love them. Nice speed and a good hit without the recoil.

I was considering getting a Coonan. The wife might shoot me for it though. It would be worth it.

The only issue I have with the Coonan is the frame is SO thick at the grip. I was originally designed for the .357 Mag so the grip had to be long to fit the round. You really need to hold one, very well built, but if you are used to a Govt. Mod... It's awkward feeling for me.

If Bor-Sto makes a 357 Sig barrel for the Commander, what type mag would work
    with any such conversion?
