Sweet! A .40 cal. Gold Cup...I'd love to have that combination. I currently don't have any pistol in that clambering and that one would fit the bill nicely.
Back in '95 I found a new, stripped, blue, 80 Series Gold Cup 10mm/.40 S&W slide at the old Houston Astro Hall gun show for $125. I never saw one before, so I picked it up. The person selling it had over 100 new, stripped, Colt slides, but this was the only blue Gold Cup 10mm/.40 S&W slide he had. What else could I do? What would you do? Anyway, over the span of a year I picked up a complete 1991A1 frame from CDNN for $195. I scrounged all over creation for real Colt Gold Cup parts. I was strongly advised by the IPSC boys to use a Briley .40 S&W barrel, bushing, recoil spring, and recoil guide rod assembly. I even found a knock off Gold Cup trigger and a real Elliason rear sight. I had a local IPSC pistolsmith put everything together, polish the frame to match the slide, and finally give her a nice trigger job. Here she is with real Colt 40 S&W mags and all:

Very, very nice.
As a one time .40 hater, I now love the .40, you have a sweet gun there.
Now put the 10mm barrel in and shoot some big boy loads. lol![]()
Colt revolvers... it's a happy addiction.
Sweet Frankengun you have built up there, MG! I bet it is a great shooter. Thanks for showing, and good job on the build.
