I picked up two Colt Woodsman Match Target Bullseyes in late 2011 whish had marked US COAST GUARD shipped to John Lorch in 1940-41 (gov't purchasing agent) Washington, DC. Later one was etched to NASA and the other TVA. Any idea why they went to NASA and TVA?

The bottom grips were on a used Kimber Custom Classic 1911 I bought a couple of years ago.
