Around here in New Mexico that gun WITHOUT the box or papers would easily bring $750.
This gun cannot be shipped into California so prices tend to be higher here. With that in mind, is $950 OBO for this 1972 satin nickel .45 Commander OK? I might add that this is the only 1911 that I'd consider getting and this one is in my town with box, papers, and three extra mags. It has some scratches and was a carry gun by the seller/original owner. What d'ya think?

$950 is a fair price I believe....
well the scratches don't show up in that picture but going by what i can see and what you said i'd say it's a fair price.
Even if it was a bit high, it's what you want and if you let it go for the difference of a dinner out that leaves you the next day, I think you'll regret it...

in cali.....id buy
It would go for that price in my neck of the woods too. My friend's son has been looking for one for several years now. They just don't seem to show up that often.
In the poor midwest, the SN commanders sell for about 8-850 in a lot worse condition then that. I would grab it.
Seems about right. They bring $800 easy without the box & etc here, when you caan find one, if at all.
Buy and enjoy.

If the gun has not been abused, buy it before I do.
