With what appears to be an Idiot scratch as well...I wouldn't pay over $750.00. I am sure somebody here thinks I'm generous.![]()
This colt is part of an estate sale. It has been refinished and comes with one original magazine and one aftermarket mag. What would be a fair price for it?

I do, I wouldn'y pay over 500, and probably wouldn't buy it at all. The pistol has been ruined by overzealous polishing.

You would have to want this as a shooter. The over polishing puts it in the $500 to $600 range.
Same here, $500-$600
It has been horribly overpolished. It's a shame. Pre Series 70 Govt. Models are coveted in original condition.
It could be sent to 'Turnbulls' or even Colt themself I s'pose, for some judicious Draw Filing and re-re-finishing, and re-stamping of the Rampant Colt and so on...otherwise, yeahhhh...too painful to look at as-is...
That was polished by a trained chimp, at best.![]()
All the things everyone says is true...BUT Have you priced Colt 1911 Frames recently ?

Buying this pistol to get a pre 70s Colt frame is in reality not a bad idea but not for much more than $500 unless you had the correct slide already and needed the frame.
Now if you had a parts gun with a pre 70s slide then this pistol would have some appeal for sure.
