    Plus II Safety Removal

"6. If you remove the grips, don't turn the thumb safety too far or a little spring will pop out from behind it and beam into outer space. "

I removed the grip on my Mustang Plus II and did not follow the advice on #6. The safety plunger went flying into my woodpile, never too be seen again, but the spring stayed put. I slid the safety lever back over the spring, and now I cannot move the safety. I guess the spring popped into the depression reserved for the safety plunger. How do I remove the safety lever (#27 on the parts list blowup)? I will do it in a six-sided light box, so if it flies it won't go far.

    Thanks!
