i have my eye on a old MK IV ser 70 govt model slide that just has the extractor. missing are the bbl bushing, guide rod and spring. the unit comes with the bbl also. how hard is it going to be to come up with the bbl bushing, guide rod and spring? any guess as to the cost of these parts if i find them? trying to put together a conversion unit for my GC MK IV ser. 70. thanks ......

The 70 Series Government Model in 9mm uses a finger type barrel bushing. The recoil spring guide is identical to a standard .45 spring guide. As for a recoil spring, you should call Wolf Gunsprings and get a 14# recoil spring Springs for COLT 1911 GOV'T PISTOL Semi-Auto Pistols

so far batting 0. looked at all of your links, all 45 stuff. called brownell's and sounds like their bushings are for 45 as well, talked with the tech dept. they said the std bushing (45) was .575 (i/s) dia. i have a as new ser 70 MK IV 9 mm so i mic'ed the bbl (hated to even rack the slide) and that came out .591 which makes me wonder if they are reading right. as far as getting a collet style bushing i would say yes but also know they made a 9 in the 80 series where they went to a solid bushing as far as i know (some times not much). so still looking ....... thanks .....

The Series 70 ,.45, .38 Super, & 9mm Luger used the same collet bushing. The 38S /9mm Commander used a smaller bored barrel bushing than the .45 as the barrel was a smaller OD.

Call George at Evolution Gun Works (EGW), mic the inside of your slide as well as the OD of the barrel and have him make a barrel bushing that fits.

Have you tried this slide on your GC the ejector cuts might be different. My Series 70 .38 Super slide would not go on my .45.

Are you trying to put a 9mm slide on a .45 frame? or a .38 Super frame?

On the frame, you need to swap ejectors and slide stops, but also the ramp angle is different. You will likely have reliability issues driving the 9mm round up the .45 ramp. Some get away with it, but not all.
