Where is Kevin Williams when you need him ? You ain't at the donut shop are ya ?

Kevin, I asked Colt, Specifically the Archive Department if records were kept currently as to the Number of Different Models produced regarding "100 Years of Service" Model O's, to which the answer was NO.

However I think someone knows, Anyone at CCA have a clue or have their finger on that information ?

Thanks for your time and input.

You may go back to your regularly scheduled breakfast.

    Kid,

I'm just back from my morning 10 mile run and about to sit down to fruit and yogurt. If anyone is tracking such information it would be Lowell Pauli. However, I must confess that most so-called serious collectors don't give a rat's a$$ about much of anything Colt has produced in the last 25 years or so, especially the "special" issues and commemoratives. I don't mean that to sound as snobbish as it probably does--just the facts, ma'am.

    Regards,
    Kevin Williams

    Kevin,

I hope you are joking. After that you certainly deserve something better than fruit and yogurt. Something like SOS topped with eggs over easy? And don't forget the Tabasco sauce. ;-)

I called Lowell Pauli, He doesn't know. He said he hasn't seen the "100 Years of Service" roll mark yet. I guess I will have to resort to hypethical math.

SOS, on cold white toast, with an egg on top might be just the one thing better than a Colt!!!!

The real problem with the 100-year rollmarked pistols is the fact that Colt only specially marked the slides. Since parting out Colt pistols seems to be a favorite pastime of some people you can bet that extra 100-year slides will start showing up at gun shows soon, allowing anybody to use one on their Colt frame regardless of what year it was actually made. Collectible or not, it would still suck to buy what you think is a 100-year commemorative only to find out the frame was made in 2009.

I agree dsk, I think if I use Brent's analogy that Colt produce 50,000 pistols last year I suspect that one could come up with a Unreasonable gueestimate as to how many of each model was produced. I hope people save those boxes, because I think this is a Year that will solve the ,"When Was Mine Made" question for the "100 years of Service".

Still I think they made fewer BSS Government Model in 38 Super than Blue Government 45's.

Just like any 100 year old Colt today, a 100th year roll-mark could be just as valuable..... in a 100 years.

We sell a good number of guns on Auction Arms . Already we are getting inquiries as to whether we have guns with the "100 Yr" mark so eveidently some do care . As to value i guess time will tell .

They continue to ship the "100 Yrs" in 2012 . We've had 3 different O models come in this month . 2- O1911ANVIII , 3-O2020 and 5-O2021ELC2 . The Delta's were not marked but the BRTSS 38's were . Not sure why one and not the other .
