Y'all have a picture or two ?
I have limited edition Colt Mustang Lightning 380 and I'm trying to understand it's current value.
I am the orginal owner and purchased the gun new in 1996. I fired exactly 100 rounds in it and then stored it.
Would anyone know it's value ??
thanks,
-Dennis

It appears to be similar to a Mustang Plus II but it looks like it has an alloy frame instead of the Plus II steel frame. It was a Lou Horton creation and held more rounds than a regular Mustang. As you are the original owner...do you have all the original packaging for the gun? This will greatly effect its value.
I am the original owner and the gun seems to be all steel to me ..... the frame seems to have a extremely fine shot peened texture .........
I have the original box (with cover) with all that came with it ........
The sleeve says Colt Model 06880RSR Govt.Pktlite/Mustang, 380 Auto, 2 3/4, SS/T

Theav8r - Welcome to Coltforum! I hope you like it here.
You must be a pilot, hence the screen name? Me too.
The MSRP for the new Colt Mustang Pocketlite (yes, I know it is different from your pistol) is $599.
What I'd pay - $600. Its only value to me would be as a shooter. What it is probably worth on a broker site...I'd say $900 or so.
nothing
Collects - yes flying is a great hobby ..... love it ........
DeltaCommander - thanks for the input .....
I did a search and found a listings on gunsameria ..... i couldn't really tell if the price i saw was a "sold" price or not but it was $1250 !
if i can get that type of price, i'll sell and buy two of the news ones !!!
thanks again for the input !
welcome aviator from North Carolina. You are doing the right thing by seeing what price it can go for. Commemoratives tend to stay about the same as the original price lots of times. Limited editions, on the other hand, of anything can be worth more if you happen to get a buyer that just happens to be a Mustang collector ( everybody likes what they likes), If you can get it sold before all the new production Pocketlites get plentiful, you might cash in. Right now the new ones are going for more than MSRP cause not enough to go around just yet, as you probably know. The guys with pockets full of Colts probably aint gonna pay that kinda cash. but heck.. I saw a ruger 10/22 magnum go for $1500 on Gbroker cause the buyer thought it was some sort of special box and limited edition as the wiley seller advertised it as such. (Fool and his money soon parted). Good Luck with it.
