Here is an example of a refinished Colt 1911-A1 with an interesting history. It is an early war Colt frame, later war Colt slide and Springfield during the war SP replacement barrel. It has Belgium Proofs on the frame, slide and barrel. The blue is rather nice, almost like a Colt royal blue in color and gloss, hard to get a good picture of it. And it has US military papers saying it was ok for a civilian employee of the US Army to bring it back from Germany in 1960! Of course I have no idea when it was done or where.
