    Question on a 100th 1911

Hey guys! Can anyone tell me about this gun? Is it a special Colt Edition or something else? Also I was told that this is #1 of 100. I can't seem to find another one to compare it to.

    Thanks!

I don't know much about these, but the right side of the slide is marked "1 of 100". This is the type of 'collectable' pistol that Colt and other manufacturers do to build interest. If it's a $1,000 gun now, in 5 years, it will still be a $1,000 gun - or less IMHO. As a general rule of thumb... any gun made to be collectable isn't. (At least not for the first 50 to 75 years!!)

Again, that's just my opinion on the 1 of 100 thing.

If you like the gun for what it is, and not what it will be in the future... go for it!

As stated in you other post: "There you go, Self explanatory 1991 Series Government Model that they released with the gold leaf and limiting production to 100 units." Nice Gun, Shoot it, enjoy it.

It's from the recent Ellet Bros show. According to my local dealer who was there they made an announcement that the first 100 dealers to sign up for one could buy it. They also did 100 Ruger 1911s and 100 S&W Governors. They are all marked 1 of 100.
