Colt Officers ACP "Enhanced"? - Newbie Questions (Picture)

Hi Guys, I just had an opportunity to trade my Glock 19 pistol to someone wanting it very badly and had this Colt Officers model to trade, which I gladly took him up on. It has scuffs/handling marks from being in a holster, but it's in very nice shape overall.

I'm not very familiar with Colt 1911's and am excited to start learning about my new pistol.

It's a series 80 model and has a serial number of SF04591E. Is there any way to determine when it was manufactured?

    Any education is greatly appreciated!

Easiest way might be to just call Colt's Monday and ask the customer service rep. Give them your serial number and they will tell you the year it was made - co charge.

NICE trade and welcome to the forum.

Thanks Guys! I will give Colt a call on Monday.

Yep, I made a strait up trade for my Glock 19.....I thought it was too good to be true, but the other gentleman was thrilled as can be with the Glock so it was a good deal for everyone.

Thanks for the welcome; I'm excited to be here.

Hi, oldiron1. I'd say welcome myself, but you were here long before me. Anyways, I, too, believe you got the best of that deal. I've owned two Colt Officers but, regrettably, still only have one. Bought it ANIB in 1991. When I called Colt about a birthdate, the very helpful gentleman informed me that it was made in 1990. Many thousands of rounds downrange since then. Kids learned to shoot handguns with it. Too sentimental to sell now. I like mine a lot & I'm sure you will like yours as well. Do give them a call Monday. Hope you won't be on hold too long.

    Ed
