Need help on complete stripping of Colt hammerless model 1908 .25.

I am in the process of completely disassembling my Colt model 1908 .25 hammerless. It has been no problem and I have really enjoyed this exercise and am now down to removing the "safety disconnector" .All other items were easily done but the disconnector seem a little tricky as the sharp tips seem to catch on the sides of the groves on the frame as it moves to the rear and the grove turns upward. Are there any tricks that the experianced smith uses to remove the disconnector .I can put a sharp pin on the sides but want to get advice before trying to pinch the sides .
