    last round jams?

I have two magazines that sometimes allow the last round to jam. The round is stuck at about 45 Degree angle with the nose of the bullet just under the hood and the head of the case still in the magazine. I can't figure out why. All other rounds fire and function fine and it doesn't happen all the time. Suggestions? Is it possibly spring pressure? These are chip mccormik (8 round) in excellent condition, clean, with no dents dings or excessive wear. My gun is a commander in excellent condition .

Remembering back to my semi-auto days , I believe that is often the sign of a weak spring that doesn't bring the last round up far enough fast enough for your slide cycle.

It definitely sounds like a magazine issue. I’m assuming you regularly clean and lube your magazines. That would be my first look. Have you tried any other brand mags to see if they jam also? As A1A said , Springs would be my next try. I would definitely run some other mags to determine if it’s gun or mag related.
I gotta .45 underneath my coat and another one in my boot.

I had this problem on my Kimber pro , solution was wolf recoil spring , wilson mags , polished ramp ,runs like a clock , I always polish ramps anyway on new guns its just a smoother feed .

Magazine Spring being too weak sounds right to me also.

Follower dragging as it gets close to the top, could do it tooo...

Slide is pushing the Cartridge forward before the Cartridge is in the correct final position.

Other magazines work fine. I was hoping to find what was causing this intermittent malfunction with THESE TWO magazines. I'll look into some replacement springs. Going to take the followers out and do a little caliper checking to see if I can find any dimentional (or wear) differences with those of other magazines that don't malfunction. Thank you for your suggestions.
