    Vintage Rifle - Missing Part?

Not a Colt, so delete if necessary, but I thought some of the more experienced members might help me out with this rifle. I'm trying to help a friend of mine.

    Model 24 rifle (Browning copy)

the barrel/foregrip assembly is loose when attached to the receiver/stock

this collar has an un-threaded hole in it

was there a pin which is now missing?

How was it secured from the factory?

Could I just use a spring washer to shim the collar and create tension?

The Remington Model 24 was a licensed copy of the Browning 22 Auto.

Here's an exploded view of the Browning:

There appears to be a spring and plunger that fit that hole.

Here's the Remington factory owner's manual for the Model 24:

Here's the Browning Owner's manual with better detail (First page is blank, page down):

    Thanks

Looks like it's missing at least three parts that help secure the barrel.

    barrel lock
    barrel lock spring
    barrel lock spring plunger
