    1892 questions

I just bought a 1904 era Officers Model 38 which as you know is the 1892 design. I noticed when cocked I can see a little flat spring between the hammer and the frame. I think this may be the hand spring which is installed incorrectly. I also noticed a difference between this gun and my older 1892. The older one will not cock when the cylinder is open but the Officers Model will. I think this also has something to do with the flat spring I can see between the hammer and frame.
I have not taken one of these early DAs apart yet but I intend to pull the sideplate off of the Officers Model to see what the heck is going on in there.
Any advise from those out there with experience with these early DAs? Thanks.

you want advice: 1) dont ask me I know nothing; 2) wait for dfariswheel to come along; 3) find the schematic on Numrich.com and see what you can make of it.

PS thanx for all the great Julia pics. I did not have nerve enough to ask to hold Butch Cassidy's revolver.
