gunsmith needed for old police positive

I've got an old police positive that needs some love. The timing is way off, the cylinder will push out without pushing the release. And it needs refinishing. Anyone know who can fix it or even if it is worth it?

You might check with Jack First Gunshop. I believe that is who Colt would recommend. In addition to making a lot of obsolete parts, you will note that the History page discloses that they have a repair facility. A telephone call is required.

Best bet is to send it to Colt for repair. As for refinishing, most would agree not worth it especially if you're going to shoot it. It sounds like it was shot and handled often and not well taken care of over the years. But would be interested in seeing pics to assess how bad the finish really is and a serial number so we can date it.

Colt is declining to work on older guns. By all means, call them and ask. This is one reply re OPs.
