    Question New Fronteir plastic washers

for my sons 11th Birthday we he received a New Frontier 22LR/Mag. This has an aluminum frame and I noticed when I disassembled it for a good scrubbing and oiling there were plastic washers on most of the screws. Somewhere in the recesses of my mind I seem to recall that these needed to be replaced when the firearm was disassembled. Is this true and if so where do I get the replacement washers?

Numrich www.e-gunparts.com lists them: Part #206290 at $1.55 each

I've taken a number of these little six guns down and re-assembled with the "old" washers. As long as they aren't brittle or damaged, don't see why not. They aren't meant to be crush washers, so don't get carried away with torque on the screwdriver. In my experience, you can tell if a gun has been previously disassembled - those little washers are usually missing if it has.

BTW: The New Frontier .22s have a steel frame, not alloy. Should be CCH finished frame. If its really an alloy frame, you probably have a Frontier Scout, not a New Frontier. (Check the roll mark on the barrel.)

Don't think I said "grip frame", nor did flanman. I said "frame" is steel. Grip frames are alloy.
