Check out 1911ultratool.com there you will find a new type of break down tool that make the chore much easier, there are video's on the web site showing how it works. I am ordering one for my New Agent !
Just got my Colt CCO and it has a solid guide rod with a hollow cap below the bushing.
Which wrench works best for this application?
thanks

Can't tell which one fits the CCO.
I just hauled off and called Clark's and ordered two of the poly wrenches.
I've read they tear up pretty quickly.

Any 1911 bushing wrench should work, it is just a commander slide on a officer frame. You should be able to just push the plug by hand and turn the bushing without a tool, however if it is tight, and you need a tool, I like the scratch proof nylon wrench.

Educate me....the original wrench from my '78 Gold Cup box wouldn't fit the CCO bushing.
I guess it's been modified with the solid guide rod and hollow spring cap.
broknaxl, I think that's the one Clark is sending...it's poly of some sort.
thnx
