    Antique Colt 1892 Problems

I just purchased an antique Colt 1892 and just noticed a problem. When I cylce through it by pulling the hammer back when it is pointed down, it functions fine but when I do this same thing and point the gun upwards it does not. It will work fine a few times but then when I cock it on the 3rd or 4th time, the hammer will only go halfway back and then get stuck or the hammer will go back but not rotate the cylinder. Does anyone know what is causing this problem? Will it be expensive to fix?

    Thanks

I would guess ( since in my case, it is a 'guess' and I do not have a Mental Map of the innards of one of these ) that it might be a weak or absent or broken Hand Spring...
