Colt mfg of a Colt 1851 Navy.

Anyone know the size of the arbor where it enters the barrel.

I have a 1851 that has a slight wobble in the interface between the barrel and frame.


In addition what would be a source for info on this gun.

The fella with the reply goes by "Rifle" and is a certified cap 'n ball genius IMO. I have had him work on several cap 'n balls including a 2nd Gen. '51 Navy. He's a country boy in OH that has tinkered with cap n' balls for nigh onto 30 years or more and when he talks I listen. There is NONE better in the USA IMO for these type revolvers and I don't give that praise easily. He posts on the CAS City Darksiders Den which is easily THE best website for blackpowder revolver info.

A good referance is " '51 Colt Navies" by Nathan L. Swayze. There is no mention of the size of the cylinder pin only that the Hartford models are slightly smaller in diameter than London models. The first thing I would check is the wedge and then shim the hole as the article says. I've done this on a '60 Army conversion. I would measure mine for you quick, but my battery is dead in my caliper.
