You will almost certainly not be pleased with cold blue.
It's not at all durable, and can be wiped off with a fast rub with your thumb.
It tends to cause rust, and turns brown.
Guns often end up with a smoky looking, streaked gray-blue color.
Cold blue, even the best of them like Brownell's Oxpho-Blue are intended for touch-up of small scratches.
Personally, I'd keep a coat of lube on it to prevent rust and use it as-is.
