    Manga Tip set question

A quick question- what is the difference between the magnetic tip and the clip tip? Is one preferreable to the other?

The Magna tip handles use a magnet to hold the bit, and this allows the driver tip to be magnetic also to hold screws.

The clip tip uses a small wire internal clip to hold the bit in place, and this doesn't magnetize the bit.
They used to also sell a collet tip that had a collet that was tightened to hold the bit in place without any wobble, but I don't see it any more.

Personally, I used the Law Enforcement size clip-tip far more than the magnetic tip.

I was wondering the same. Dfaris, whats the difference between the Law Enforcement handle and the others? I am planning on getting a set, but don't really understand what the difference is. Is the Law Enforcement handle the short stubby one?

broknaxl I can answer that one( finally a question I can answer now watch me get it wrong)
The short stubby one is just that the short stubby one.
The Law enforcement one is a mid-sized one created at the request of the law enforcement armory folks as the short stubby was too short and the standard was too long
The standard is the original but was less than ideal for some of the work done.

The clip ring in the clip tip can wear and loosen allowing bits to fall out. If and when that happens, however, Brownells will replace the handle. The magnetic tip, like most things, also has pros and cons. It can be handy to extract screws, but is drawn to the work and can take a little effort and care to align it in the slot. JMO

Does anyone know off the top of their head what size bits would cover all Colt screws or maybe just the most common encountered?
