I'm having the exact same problem with mine. Mine also is a 1911 colt gov.ss .45 series 70. I love this model by the way an it is my second to own. I have found that are way too many experts and yes some are crazy as I'm sure you are finding out. I took my to a gunsmith in Savanah Ga. Saturday. He has a solid rep. for his work on 1911's. And I believe he charges a fair price. He is going to throat the barrel where the bullet feed in. There may be a more technical term for this fix as I'm sure someone will let me know. He believes this will fix the problem. And with a trigger job to take out some of the creep I'm looking at 125.00.
