This may do it. Stock Screw![]()
Anyone have the correct dimensions for the grip screw on a 1920 Officers Model with deep dish emblem walnut grips. I suspect that mine either has an undersize screw as the screw can be pushed completely through the nut (even the part of the screw that has no threads), or the nut threads are stripped - but threads appear OK to me on both so I'm betting it's the wrong screw.
Also, any source for the parts? (ie what other grips have the same size screw as mine and/or same nut - or someone who sells them?)
I see a person is selling generic grip screw sets for old colts on Gunbroker (I suspect they are not correct materials, but they might be the correct size). He gives dimensions of 30mm x 3.0mm x 0.50 thread. On the other hand, the screw might only fit the nut he supplies.
Thanks in advance,
LMyer

Try the Screw you have on a different old Colt DA Stocks, and see if it pushes through.
Oyeboten, I know it's unusual for someone posting here but I only have the one Colt handgun.
A1A - thanks for the link. Part is ordered.
Best,

I am glad the screw works for you, but, of course, it is not correct because the original screw should be nickel-plated.
This is, of course, true. I did not find a nickel one at first look, but this may be it although without illustration.
Stock Screw, Nickel
Oh!
Well, glad to hear you were able to get one and that it worked out alright.
The link for the Nickel Plated one - maybe find out from them what length it is...since the smaller Colts ( such as they list the Crew being for ) may not have used as long a Stock Screw as did the mid Frame ones...( I do not know, I never compared them to find out...)
JudgeColt and A1A and Oyeboten - thanks for the info that it needs to be nickel plated and also the 2nd link and info about possible length differences. I just didn't know that is what is used on my revolver, as I have no frame of reference. Fortunately at $3 each I can afford to reorder and try to obtain the correct one. if it turns out the wrong length, I still have the unplated screw.
Thanks again,
Les

If you actually get the correct part from Numrich, you will be lucky. I have an absolute 100% failure rate with Numrich. I gave up years ago and have gone to Jack First for parts, with mostly successful outcomes.
