I got a lump of coal for Christmas, but I'm getting a Colt for New Years

I bought a copy of TBOCF 3rd. Ed. from sendmailtojim on Ebay at a very good price.
He conscientiously shipped it on the 19th. The P.O. tracking said it would be delivered on the 23rd.
It's not here today, it's somewhere in the ether between FL. and PA. I was hoping to start reading it yesterday or today.

    Maybe next week!

However, I am getting the 1941 DS for New Years

Your mail already ran today? Maybe it's laggin in the wagon? Look at it this way, maybe a son got his first Colt from his father today because your book didn't make the sort facility in time but the gun did

I shipped two holsters out ten days ago and they are still out there somewhere in that twilight zone netherworld alternate universe ether along with your book. They are all swirling around in the darkess like at the beginning of the Twilight Zone with that erie music playing.

I agree with you. I'm not really upset about it. I just felt like posting. You guys know me......
It's very hard for the Post Office and the private carriers to keep up with the huge amount of mail they handle from Thanksgiving to New Years. I really didn't expect the book to be delivered on the 23rd

The USPS has been a little slow and they have not been doing their tracking very well unless you consider "tracking" as arrival at your post office prior to delivery. Had a couple knives delivered yesterday and had been "in transit" at the point of origin the whole week.... with nothing in between... then wala... delivery.

I actually shipped some lumps of coal for christmas to my brother. They were "special" lumps however.

Yes,USPS must have been overwhelmed, but it seems to depend on the direction/route. I received a priority package from LINY in two days, delivered on Christmas Eve day by extra delivery truck. On the other hand, I sent a priority package to NY on Monday. By Wednesday it was 50 miles up the road at the next sorting facility. By Friday it was in NY, in the wrong city 150 miles beyond destination. Miraculously, it was delivered on Saturday. That is a similar route to your TBOCF, as sendmailtojim is 50 or so miles down the road from me. That must account for the extra business day.

BTW I think all the carriers were overloaded because of the significant amount of online ordering.
