colt scout pics 003.jpgHey...we as many here know...sometimes things are not made as good as they should be...i recently got a set of destroyed grips with a recent purchase that i thought was beyond any repair...well i was getting ready to throw them away and was getting the hardware out and realized why not try and repair them...i have not found anyone who posted repairing Jay Scott grips and after closer inspection i realized that they were not built very well..but because of that..i was able to take many broken pieces and remove them from the broken backing..clean them us..repair the substrate with little old technology..and straighten them out..they were warped..glue was dried out..cracked..and to my surprise...i have them in two pieces and are able to fit on a gun and they look ok..not new by any means..but with prices for perfect ones getting pricey...hey i figured if i can fix these grubby looking old ones..what might i be able to do with something really worth saving...will post some pics this evening...these are what i started with..one grip was in many pics..other one backing had almost cracked in two and was buckled...and they were taped to the frames..
