Things to see in los angeles?

Going to be in L.A. for a short while next week. We will drop by and see the Gene Autry Museum and I was wondering if you guys could reccommend any place else to go with similar interests? Thanks!

I don't know about similar interest, But the LA County Museum of Natural History, La Brea Tar Pits...It's been years since I lived there, so much has changed. Just for Giggles, you may want to go by the LA Zoo, it's near the Autry Museum and see if you can find any of US Forum Members...

Oh did I have fun Back then !

I used to live in LA and the La Brea Tar pits are sweet...there is also an indoor gun range downtown, close to alameda and e 6th i think.
while downtown there is a great car museum.

Foodwise: Tommy's Burgers A family-owned chain. The Original is downtown. Or Phillipe's=created the french dip sandwich-across from Union Station. VERY eclectic! A block South from there is Olvera Street=the original Mexican main street for LA. Now all tourist-stuff but the buildings are original.
    Angels Flight=downtown.
Typical tourist "stuff"= Queen Mary in Long Beach, the Spanish Missions (San Fernando, San Gabriel, etc). LA Art Museum (a block from the tarpits), J. Paul Getty, the Huntington Museum. Museum of Science and Industry (near the Natural History Museum), USC Rose Garden (Next to the Natural History Museum), L.A. Coliseum .

NOTE: The area around Exposition Park (Coliseum, Museums, USC) is not a good one-don't go wandering around.

Visit the beaches (especially Redondo Pier and get some seafood=better than Santa Monica), Venice Beach & the original Muscle Beach (looking for weirdos). See an aquarium=forget Long Beach unless you are short on time. If you have the time, visit the Burch Museum at Scripps Institute of Oceanography in La Jolla (2 hours south of L.A.)

If you're there on a Sunday, be sure and make it over to the Santa Monica zoo.

Always liked the Santa Monica area and usually stayed in that locale. Nice in the summer; however, may be a little bleak this time of year. Some interesting young men's social clubs around, namely the Venice 13, and MS13....
