    Colt 1917 on gunsamerica.com

    I just noticed a very strange "1917" on Gunsamerica.com #948803473. Problem is, it's a .38 Special.
I'm thinking maybe a re-barrel & cylinder switch? Could you guys take a look and let me know your thoughts?
Had an email conversation with the owner and he admits to have little knowledge on Colts, So, maybe, we can help him out/

    Here's what I see:

    1. The shape of the front sight is post-WWII, so yes, probably a re-barrel

    2. The ejector rod head looks like one from a post-WWII Official Police

    3. The stocks are the commercial style, not the smooth walnut

    4. The lanyard ring assembly looks "British," like a round ball wlth a round ring through it
